Loch Ness (Is Monster Less)

HEY EVERYONE I'M STILL HERE! I just realized today that the last time I posted was in September so I guess it's about time I updated this thing. I'm warning you now, its going to be less of a "Wow Natalie, what an interesting life you lead" type post and more of a "I guess we should thank you for blogging instead of taking a nap?" one. So part of the reason I haven't updated this in a while is because my brilliant (<- British lingo!) space bar on my brilliant lenovo decided to go on a little leave of absence, and.I.didnt.think.any.of.you.would.want.to.read.a. post.like.this. Also, contrary to popular belief, I actually have had a bunch of work to do lately :/.

So, a little recap on my life since September:

  • Referencing my last post, Edinburgh hit a high of 73 degrees and I got a little bit of a sunburn!! Woo!

  • More recently, Edinburgh hit a low of 37 degrees and then I went out and bought a tub of Cadbury hot chocolate. Back to our normal 55 and cloudy today though- all is well.

  • My dad came to visit :)

  • I went to Loch Ness and didn't exactly get to see the monster. However, to be fair it was pouring rain and I didn't exactly get to see anything that wasn't 10 feet infront of me either.

Also, I learned some new Scottish/English lingo:

  • liquid sunshine- rain

  • chips- french fries

  • crips- chips. And they come in flavors you didn't even want to know existed.

  • Wellies- rainboots. As in, "are you seriously wearing your wellies right now?!?" (Yes, I was seriously wearing my wellies, but it was drizzling. I guess that doesn't cut it here)

  • fancy dress- to dress up in a costume. For example, Halloween. Not, for example, business formal.

I'm sure there are many other words that I just can't think of right now, so i'll have to add to this list in the future. Anyways, that's all from me. I miss you all dearly and I can't believe I'm almost halfway through my time here! Time flies and it's only going to go by faster these next few months. Next up for me- St. Andrews on sunday!! Where two of the most famous things in the world began: golf and Wills-Kate relationship hahah.
